About

About Heliacon

We help organisations navigate uncertainty and build with confidence.

Heliacon is me, Pete Dainty. [PETE: one headline line, who you are in a sentence, e.g. "a product and engineering leader who has spent N years building search, data and AI products".]

Why I started Heliacon

The web is being read by machines as much as by people now. Most companies still write only for the browser and quietly go invisible to the models and agents that increasingly decide what gets found, trusted and used. I started Heliacon to fix that from the origin up.

This is not a view I picked up second-hand. [PETE: one or two sentences on how you arrived at it, the hands-on work that taught it to you.]

What I have built

[PETE: your track record goes here. This is the single most important thing on the page, and the proof a buyer needs before hiring a solo firm. Roles, companies, the scale you worked at, and the outcomes you actually moved. Be specific and use numbers. Shape:]

  • [Role, Company, years], [what you owned and the result, with a metric].
  • [Role, Company, years], [what you owned and the result].
  • [Something you shipped or led that bears directly on AI visibility, search, relevance or agentic product.]

How I work

Substance over spin. I measure by what can be proven on the wire, not what sounds good in a slide. You get the research, the reference implementation and the tools behind it, applied to your problem.

This site is built the way I build. One canonical origin, projected for humans and machines, every claim carrying its provenance. It runs a working MCP server, a citation-first ask endpoint and a provenance API, and it is source-available. Do not take my word for any of it. Inspect it.

I take a small number of engagements at a time, because senior attention does not scale and I would rather do a few things properly.

Mission, approach, values

What Heliacon is for

Our mission

To make knowledge legible, verifiable and owned, so the people who create it are found and trusted by the machines that now read the web. And to build software that gets better for the people who use it, not worse.

Our approach

Research led. Evidence over opinion. Built to be inspected.

We measure by what can be proven on the wire, not what sounds good in a slide.

Our values
  • Curiosity. We work at the edge and follow the question.
  • Clarity. We turn complexity into something you can act on.
  • Provenance. Every claim traces back to what substantiates it.
  • Sovereignty. You hold your origin. No one rents it to you.
